A little recent history… You are here in the former dormitory of Camp Mod-L founded in 1952. One of the first summer camps in Quebec and a true educational institution. He is in 1972 sold to Loisirs Saint-Marcel in Pointe aux Trembles then became the Base de plein air des Laurentides. Generations of children have followed one another, summer, like winter, to practice hiking, escalade, horse riding and sailing lessons. In the last few years, hundreds of children stayed there, distributed in rooms with bunk beds. Some days, unexpected visitors show up, came to revisit a place from their childhood full of unforgettable memories. One saying... “I had 9 ans, I’m 75… it’s changed a lot…” Nothing remains of the adjacent gymnasium, nor stables, nor the climbing walls built on the neighboring rock walls. The school sailboats have dispersed; nothing either of the gazebo built in the middle of the lake reached by a long quay which jutted out onto the water except for a submerged wooden base. There is still the canteen a little further away. But everything remained the charm and beauty of this place which enchanted the founders of the base and those who preceded them.. The base was closed in 2009, the land divided into lots for renewal. The dormitories earmarked for demolition were acquired in 2009 and refitted into a gîte. The partitions demolished and then rebuilt 5 rooms welcome you today, continuing its vocation of sharing and access to the beautiful nature of the Hautes-Laurentides. Became a lodge, it has had several names: Bears & Beavers, Les Lustrales and today Wild Lake Lodge. Despite installations that bear the mark of time, we hope that in this place you will access unparalleled comfort for some: that which preserved nature offers. Welcome!

Outdoor boats, including inflatable boats, are not permitted on the lake from the Lodge.
